OK first I will tell you about Elsie Dinsmore in the books I am reading. The books are about, Elsie Dinsmore, Of course. She is a young Christian girl who is motherless and at first her father is away in Europe. She is 8 at the beginning and I think we follow her even when she is a grandmother. She is a very devote Christian and event. when her father tells her to do something on Sunday that she feels in her heart God wouldn't want her to do she doesn't do it. And she loves her father more than anything or anyone else in the world. This led to separation from her father who was not a Christian. He does eventually become a Christian and he and his daughter renew their relationship and then well they walk with Christ together.
Now I will speak of the Bible study.
We got there and we started out with some songs then prayer and then the leader prayed for the lesson. We had our lesson on forgiving and that people don't always agree. Then we prayed one more time to dismiss. Then we snuck into church late and finished listening to Pastor Chad preach about prayer.
Now it's time for my devotions.
It seems as though today's is about nipping temptation in the bud. My verses are found in James 1:12-15
Here goes:)tried
"James 1:12-15
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and is enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."
Now for the summery of the lesson.
There is a boy and his friend. They want some candy so bad that one of the boys gives in to his friend saying to take 'just a little money from his brother'. So he does. He keeps going back and before too long he feels no guilt. His brother sets a trap and catches them. His dad says that he was a good example of temptation. That at first its all not too sure and then the more you do it the the easier it gets. Then before to long you are off on a career of sin.
That's pretty serious.
Well Now I need to go.
Katie:)
